The Budget 2013

Today I went to London to interview bankers outside the Bank of England to discuss the budget that was announced today by George Osbourne.

Here's my package:

Bankers call on Osborne to grow the economy

By Faith Thomas:

Bankers in London hope that Chancellor George Osborne will focus on stimulating growth and investment to improve the economy in this year’s budget.
The new governor of the Bank of England is set to start this July and with little room to adjust on spending and tax, Osborne is expected to review whether to allow the bank to target growth as well as inflation.
This could involve giving the 2% inflation target more leeway.
A banker, outside the Bank of England, commented on inflation and advised the chancellor not to “mess with the inflation target.”
He added: “they need to let the new governor settle in before they make government change.”

The bankers demanded that Osborne focused on spending in infrastructure to stimulate growth.

Another banker commented on the Budget and the deficit today in the UK and said we are “turning a blind eye” on it.

In one day we went to London filmed and got back to Winchester to upload this package by 4. The day went really well- much to help me Anja Elen Ekenes filmed all of this for me-she did super! So thank you Anja!
Overall the vibe i felt from London and outside the bank was that these voxpox interviews weren't just any normal vox pox's. These people knew what they were talking about in terms of the economy. They majority told me they wanted to see more spending being made on infrastructure to bring in new jobs and money.

Here is the WINOL bulletin this week, a very succsessful week highlighting a special round-up about the Budget.

Myself and another reporter reported from London and we had two packages based on the budget that were localised- one on fuel consumption and one on capital spending, both worked very well.
This weeks bulletin also features a in studio guest supporting labours views towards the economy.
In other news Christina, our court reporter reported on a court case.
And we even had a swimming rabbit for our an final.
A very busy and yet again another successful week from everyone.
